   before

1) ago는 말하는 순간인 지금부터 전이라는 뜻이고 before는 과거의 어느 때 그 이전(before 'then' a time in the past)를 뜻한다.

   Before forty years, the journey took twice as long.(*)
   Forty years ago, the journey took twice as long.

   begin

1) '-초에' 혹은 '-처음'이라고 할 때는 at the beginning을 쓰지 in을 쓰지 않는다.

   In the beginning of the century people travelled from Britain to Egypt  by sea.(*)
   At the beginning of the century people travelled from Britain to Egypt  by sea.

2) begin + inf. 무의지적으로 하기시작하다
 begin + G. 심사숙고후 시작하다(지금도하고 있음)->그러나 일반적으로 혼용하고 있음

   I begin to feel hungry. /It began to snow.
   In those days, he began studying law.

   believe

1) believe in은 종교와 같은 어떤 믿음, 생각으로서 어떤 것을 믿는다는 말이고 believe는 객관적으로 사실에 대해 쓴다. 따라서 보거나 들은 것을 믿을 수 없다고 할 때는 in을 쓸 수 없다.

   You should not believe in everything you hear.(*)
   You should not believe everythit hardly believe in my eyes.(*)
   I can't hardly believe my eyes.

2) 굳게 믿는다고 할 때는 deeply가 아니라 firmly, strongly, sincerely, truly를 쓴다.

   I deeply believe that tourist will stop coming here.(*)
   I firmly believe that tourist will stop coming here.

   below

1) below는 어떤 것보다 낮은 곳에 있는 것을 말하며 under는 덮혀있거나 접촉해 있는 어떤 것 바로 아래를 말한다.

   Below the table there were some empty bottles.(*)
   Under the table there were some empty bottles.

2) 어떤 글에서 아래에 있는 어떤 것이라고 쓸 때는 명사 뒤에 below를 써야한다. 명사 앞에 쓰면 안 된다. 반면에 above는 명사 앞이나 뒤, 어느 곳이나 가능하다.

   The below report describes my recent stay at the Hotel Grove.(*)
   The report below describes my recent stay at the Hotel Grove.

3) 비율이 훨씬 낮다고 할 경우에는 far below를 쓰며 much는 쓰지 않는다. 반면에 lo첨가하다'라는 뜻)의 뜻이다.

   We need to discover another source of income, beside oil.(*)
   We need to discover another source of income, besides oil.

2) besides다음에는 명사를 바로 쓰며 besides of처럼 쓰지 않는다.

   Besides of this problem, her husband had lost his job.(*)
   Besides this problem, her husband had lost his job.
